The comedy song is a much maligned genre. When you mention it to most people, they think of The Barron Knights or, at best, Richard Digance.

But these two comedy stalwarts prove that, with a dose of intelligence and wit, there is plenty of life left in it.

Any regular to the Semi-Skimmed Comedy Dairy at Komedia will be familiar with Adam and Glen.

Adam warmed up the crowd with a "greatest hits" selection. The guitarist always paints himself as a loser and his skewed, self-deprecating take on life never fails to get a laugh.

His raw presentation and musical style is a fine counterpoint to Glen, who played a show-stopper of a set.

From the first piano note, I was laughing and I can't recall a time during his set I wasn't. Through parody, his musical prowess becomes part of the comedy.

The highlight had to be The Tale Of Young Sting, a Dickensian rendition of the life of the former Police frontman.

It's fair to say both were performing to an audience mostly of friends but the belly laughs were genuine.

The titter-inducing twosome were relaxed and the intimate nature of the venue meant the evening had a lovely loose atmosphere.

It's criminal these two don't do more gigs so make sure you scour the programmes and listings - you wouldn't want to miss either.
