People in Brighton are more likely to borrow money from friends and family than anyone else in Britain, according to a survey.
The poll, carried out for the Virgin One account, also showed Brightonians were the most generous with their cash.
Almost two thirds of people in Brighton said they would borrow cash if they had to from a partner, friend or family member and were the most likely to lend it to friends and family.
The findings were part of a study which showed the traditional British household of a married couple with 2.4 children, had been replaced by at least ten different models.
These included "jigsaw families" incorporating parents on their second relationship and children from previous marriages, single adults sharing or childless couples and lone parent families.
The research, commissioned by the Virgin One account as part of its report New British Families, also looked at difficulties and benefits experienced by these household types.
As a result, it has come up with a guide to home sharing, whatever the circumstances, available on 020 7395 4427.
