TV licence cheats are being targeted by a special squad during the World Cup.
Staff from TV Licensing will be out and about in Sussex during the big games to penalise anybody found watching without a licence.
Regional manager Stephen Taylor said anyone caught ran the risk of a £1,000 fine, enough to buy a return air ticket to Korea or Japan, where the games were being played.
Mr Taylor said: "We are not spoilsports, we want everyone to enjoy the games.
"However, we have absolutely no qualms about spoiling TV licence evaders' fun."
