Sussex people are among the most eccentric in the UK because of their penchant for strange events.
Bizarre Magazine has produced the Weird UK Guide, listing unusual events and activities which take place around the UK.
The guide, which includes everything from nettle-munching contests to bog snorkelling, features several Sussex highlights.
These include the World Marbles Championship at Tinsley Green, Crawley, lawnmower racing at Wisborough Green and the annual Birdman of Bognor contest.
Editor Joe Gardiner said: "We weren't surprised at how many weird and absurd events take place in the UK, including Sussex.
"We want to keep eccentric Britain and its events alive."
