Golf club steward Richard Davison is encouraging people to join a series of first aid courses after skills he learned helped save people's lives.
Mr Davison, the head steward of Worthing Golf Club, went on a first aid course run by St John Ambulance.
He said: "I have put my knowledge into practice on several occasions, such as dealing with people suffering a heart attack.
"Before I felt daunted but once I got the expert training I found my confidence really boosted. Now I can act quickly and with certainty.
"I urge anyone to call the booking line or drop in to one of the sessions to gain the basics of live-saving.
