Hundreds of people will put on their running shoes to raise charity cash.

Last year the St Barnabas Fun Run raised more than £14,000 for the hospice for terminally-ill patients in Worthing.

Organisers hope this year's total will be even better as they encourage participants to run, jog or walk the four-mile course along Worthing seafront next month.

A St Barnabas spokeswoman said: "The fun run is designed for all the family. You can have a chat while you stroll as it is quite laid back. It is a lot of fun."

Due to the popularity of the event, the race will be split so only 1000 entrants can run at any one time.

There will be no time limit for fun runners, with their race stating at 5.30pm. For experienced runners, the race will start at 4.45pm.

A trophy will be presented to the first man, woman and child (under 14) in both races. There will also be a prize for the best fancy dress.

Runners start at Splash Point, go to the roundabout at George V Avenue, where water will be available, and turn back to finish at Splash Point.

The entry fee is £3 per person, with a £10 family ticket available, to include up to two adults and two children.
