Air Partner, the charter aircraft broker, announced record profits despite a setback following the terrorist attacks of September 11.
The Gatwick-based company reported pre-tax profits of £1.6 million for the six months to January 31, up by 28 per cent on a year ago.
Chairman Tony Mack said: "Despite the last six months having been some of the most challenging market conditions the air transportation industry has ever seen, our ability to sustain growth in profitability is a testament to our robust, resilient and well-managed business.
"Signs of a recovery are clearly visible and forward bookings up 27 per cent.
"Our strategy of organic growth was put on hold for the few months after September 11; however we are now of the opinion that the worst is over and we expect to be announcing more office openings later this year."
