Despite the fact that many police dogs are regularly commended for their contribution to the force, especially their bravery, Assistant Chief Constable Nigel Yeo commented that a police dog is "a piece of equipment" and likened it to a faulty car which would be got rid of.

If this analogy applies to four-legged officers, why not to the two-legged variety too?

Maybe we should humanely euthanise any defective police officer who "does what he/she is not trained to do", instead of giving them early retirement and fat pay-off cheques.
