A new web site is helping people take a walk on Brighton's wild side.

The Brighton Walks site has details of a range of tours by Glenda Clarke, who has more than 20 years' experience as a qualified and registered tour guide.

One of the most popular tours features haunted locations around the city, including mysterious inns and ancient graveyards. Another tour focuses on locations of the 1979 film Quadrophenia.

The site, which is being viewed by people worldwide, says Brighton can lay claim to be one of the most haunted places in England.

The tour starts outside Brighton Town Hall and stops at many interesting places in the oldest part of Brighton, the Lanes.

Ms Clarke said: "I've always been interested in the supernatural and since being involved in the first Brighton ghost walk, organised by local blue badge guides in 1981, the interest in the subject has grown tremendously."

The walk, which also includes the Theatre Royal and the Royal Pavilion, goes through many alleyways to the place where the grey lady is said to have been bricked up alive.

The Quadrophenia tour takes in locations from the cult classic, including the alleyway where Jimmy and Steph go.

Ms Clarke has spoken to many people involved in the filming to get behind the scenes' stories.

She has also spoken to many mods and rockers who were present in Brighton in May 1964.

The web site includes a gallery of photographs from the various tours.
