Pilot John Laws (Letters, April 10) complains about The Argus headline Jets Five Seconds From Disaster on a story about a near-miss at Gatwick.
He writes: "Articles like this, when describing what to us is an everyday occurrence, do nothing to promote air travel, which is statistically one of the safest forms of travel. We practice go arounds regularly in flight simulators."
If jets five seconds from disaster are an everyday occurrence, I shall continue to risk travelling at ground level.
