Bobby Zamora has been tipped to continue his goalscoring exploits in the Premiership following his demolition of Wycombe last night.

The accolade came from Wycombe boss Lawrie Sanchez after a comeback double for Zamora helped Albion to a thumping 4-0 win at Withdean.

The prolific 21-year-old, returning from a three-match ban, struck in both halves to raise his tally to 28 for the season.

Reading were held to a 2-2 home draw by Bournemouth, which leaves Albion five points adrift with a game in hand ahead of Saturday's trip to the Madejski Stadium.

Sanchez, whose Wembley goal won the FA Cup for Wimbledon against Liverpool 14 years ago, said: "Zamora is a Premiership centre forward, let's make no bones about it. He will go to a Premiership club and score goals.

"I am surprised he is still here and the moment he goes Brighton will find out they are not such a good team without him."

Paul Brooker and Paul Watson were also on target in the second half as Albion galloped to their biggest win since Peter Taylor took charge.

Taylor said: "Bobby looked nice and fresh and that is probably because he's had a bit of a holiday. He does some brilliant things and Paul Brooker is also playing ever so well.

"I told the players at half time that there are another nine of these to go where they will be tense affairs, but once Bobby scored the first just before half time we played very well."

Zamora left to a standing ovation when he was substituted near the end.

Taylor added: "It would have been nice for him to get a hat-trick, but I couldn't wait to get him off in case he got injured and misses important games."

Lee Steele, Zamora's partner, limped off with a dead leg early in the second half and Taylor rates him doubtful for the Reading clash.

Elsewhere Stoke won 3-1 at Colchester to stay two points behind Albion from a match more.

Brentford beat Swindon 2-0 at home, but Bristol City lost ground by losing 1-0 at Tranmere and the chasing pack of Oldham, Huddersfield, Cardiff and QPR all drew.
