Since The Sportsman public house took over a number of parking spaces at Withdean, I have found the capacity of the park-and-ride car park to be stretched.
On a Saturday when the Albion were not playing, I arrived at midday and ended up having to street park along with many other cars.
A week later, on a date when the Albion were due to play, I arrived at about 10.30am.
Despite being earlier and there being fewer cars than the week before, I still had to street park. Upon my return at about 3.30pm (when the match was in progress), I witnessed a gentleman who was recording my registration number and was photographing cars parked on the streets.
Is he from Brighton and Hove City Council or is he a local resident?
I can understand residents must be concerned at the number of shoppers who street park on a Saturday.
While the football being at the Withdean Stadium has not put me off using this method and has not, in my opinion, aggravated the overcrowding, the sight of people snooping around has left me feeling uneasy.
I am not breaking any rules by doing this so why am I and my fellow shoppers being singled out in this way?
I would be happy if someone could shed light on this.
