A man has appeared in court charged with stabbing a shopkeeper.
Stephen Hall, 34, of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, was remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates yesterday charged with robbery and causing grievous bodily harm.
He is alleged to have stabbed a 67-year-old shopkeeper at convenience store Bacchus in Seaside Road, Eastbourne, on Friday evening before making off with cash and a mobile phone.
He was remanded in custody until March 14 when he will appear at Lewes Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing.
