I would like to thank all readers who helped the National Trust last weekend at Devil's Dyke.
Despite the weather, more than 220 volunteers came out for a weekend of conservation work.
The amount of scrub cleared was incredible. A visit to Devil's Dyke in the spring would confirm the difference they have made.
Scrub clearance, though often misunderstood, is an essential part of the landscape restoration work being carried out at Devil's Dyke.
It is beneficial for the rare wildlife and for maintaining the traditional landscape of the South Downs.
The work still goes on. There are paths to repair and more scrub to clear so if anyone missed out you can still help by becoming a Friend of Devil's Dyke.
