A 72-year-old man suffered suspected broken ribs when he was attacked by a burglar last night.
Police think it may be the man behind a string of attacks on elderly people in their homes in Brighton.
The victim was kicked downstairs at his home in Hollingbury Rise, Brighton, when he came across the intruder.
He was kicked again at the foot of the stairs before the burglar, aged about 18, fled.
The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
He and his elderly wife were both badly shaken.
