After a bad night down the dog track, I always go home and read The Argus in the hope of finding a letter to give me a good laugh.

I found just the job, thanks to Des Turner ("Fear nothing", Letters, January 30), writing about his Home Energy Conservation Bill.

It had me in stitches, recalling how his boss, Tony Blair, said the same thing - "trust me, you have nothing to fear" - on health, education and public transport.
