Tree wardens must have either been off sick or on holiday when Hall & Co from West Sussex County Council made their decision to destroy the trees at Ifield First School Playing Fields and in Ifield Wood, which dates back to the ancient Druids ("Public are asked to play a tree role", The Argus, January 4).
