Arsonists are suspected of setting fire to a couple's home.
A hall carpet was set on fire at the house in Seaford Road, Eastbourne, after blazing material was through the letterbox last night.
Firefighters from Eastbourne arrived at the scene at 11.45pm to find the couple had managed to put the fire out themselves.
The incident is being treated as arson and a police investigation was under way today.
