A teenager was attacked by a gang and hit over the head with a metal bar.
The 16-year-old boy was walking along South Road, Hailsham, on Saturday at 9pm with his girlfriend when he was approached by a group of 12 youths and attacked.
The boy was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital, where he needed eight stitches for a head wound.
Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses.
