You may have given slightly the wrong idea in the article "Steaming up to London" (The Argus, December 19), which said "a locomotive packed with Londoners would be arriving in Brighton for a day trip" on February 10 and "the schedule would give Brightonians the chance to ride on an authentic steam engine".

While it would be nice to have a footplate ride on the engine itself - and some people would pay a lot of money for that - I doubt that would be allowed.

Even if it was, there would only be room for one or two people as well as the driver and fireman.

I suspect the engine might be pulling some carriages behind it too, for the passengers to travel in.
