Britain's number three Martin Lee calls 2001 his best year ever and plans to improve on his ranking of 103.

"It was my best year ever. I reached my highest ever world ranking (103) and played Davis Cup for Britain. It was a big breakthrough year."

What are your aims for 2002?

"I want to crack the top 100 and take it from there."

How will you spend Christmas?

"I'll spend six days at home before flying off to India on December 27. It'll be nice to be home because I'm travelling most of the year."

I had a slow start but it turned out to be a pretty good year in the end. I won the National doubles and reached the semi-finals of the singles and had quite a few wins around the world and managed to maintain my ranking."

What are your plans for 2002?

"I'd like to step up to the bigger tournaments and push on from my current ranking of 159. That is my priority.

How do you plan to spend Christmas?

Christmas:" I'll be lucky enough to have two Christmas celebrations. I'll be seeing my sister Vicki and brother Keith with mum Andrea and dad Alan over the weekend of December 15/16.

Then I fly to Australia with mum and dad and my other brother Roger to spend Christmas in Newcastle, near Sydeny, at the home of my doubles partner Trudi Musgrave."
