I was greatly amused by the description of vegan and vegetarian animal rights campaigners as "somewhat simple" by an anonymous, angry carnivore (Letters, December 11).
It brought to mind the words of that famous simpleton Albert Einstein: "It is my view that the vegetarian manner of living, by its purely physical effect on the human temperament, would most beneficially influence the lot of mankind."
