Murder squad detectives investigating the death of a mother-of-five were today still waiting to quiz a man in hospital.

The 46-year-old painter and decorator remained in protective custody in hospital waiting to be questioned over the murder of care home owner Kim Baldry, 44.

He was arrested at Mrs Baldry's large detached house in Gorringe Road, Eastbourne, on Sunday night before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Mrs Baldry, who co-owned Ennis House Rest Home in Enys Road, Eastbourne, was found at her home with stab wounds.
