While sitting and pondering the local parking issues we are plagued with, I came up with an idea or two.

The first was merely a reaction to how angry I was feeling at the time.

It involved everyone who felt hard-done-by blocking strategic points of Brighton and Hove with their cars.

This log-jam would create another log-jam, the mass of tickets, appeals and complaints it would generate thereby blowing a fuse down at Brighton and Hove City Council and NCP's HQ.

I calmed down a bit and thought more. If you don't like it, protest peacefully by writing to the ticket office and stating your issues in an unambiguous way.

I was consulted about my opinion of parking problems in my zone. I gave it and know the vast majority of people agreed with me, which is why parking permits are free around the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

There were not and are not any parking problems there.

How did we manage before if the "problem" was so massive it required so much change? It is nothing more than a localised road tax and has been implemented in such an underhand way that nobody is winning.

This seems to be the way business is conducted in these parts, so expect a huge reaction.
