Detectives investigating the death of a mother-of-five are still waiting to quiz a man on suspicion of her murder.

A 46-year-old painter and decorator remained in protective custody in hospital, waiting to be questioned over the murder of care home owner Kim Baldry, 44.

He was arrested at Mrs Baldry's detached house in Gorringe Road, Eastbourne, on Sunday night before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Mrs Baldry, who co-owned Ennis House Rest Home in Enys Road, Eastbourne, was declared dead at Eastbourne District General Hospital after being found with stab wounds at home.

Twenty-five Sussex Police officers are working on Operation Duxford, led by Detective Chief Inspector Steve Dennis.
