Goals from debutant Andy Walker and Matt Smart gave Eastbourne Borough a 2-1 win over Tonbridge Angels in the Second Round of the Dr Marten's League Cup.

In freezing conditions, Borough dominated from the start and looked like the only team that were going to score.

Matt Crabb, John Westcott and Dave Adams all had chances before Walker set the game alight with a superb solo goal.

The defender, who has just signed from Bognor, picked the ball up 40 yards out before beating three players and slotted past the keeper on 27 minutes.

Nick Humphrey had Tonbridge's best chance but his header hit the underside of the bar.

Tonbridge got their shock equaliser on 53 minutes but it was totally against the run of play.

Cord Tilson sneaked in behind the defence to convert Brendan Cass's cross.

With extra time looming, Adams slipped the ball into the path of Smart who ran through and fired past the keeper to make it 2-1 in the 79th minute.

It was enough to book Borough's place in the third round draw.

Hastings Town turned on the style to thump Premier Division Folkestone Invicta 5-0 and book their place in the third round.

Town opened the scoring after only four minutes when Frenchman Landry Zahana-Oni drilled home from close range.

Folkestone went close to equalising on a couple of occasions before Chris Honey doubled the lead on 36 minutes after keeper David Wietecha had fumbled a long range effort from Lee McRoberts.

Hastings all but settled this second round tie with a killer third goal just four minutes after half time.

A stray pass let in Steve Yates who executed a delightful chip over the stranded Wietecha.

Honey claimed his second on the hour mark by finishing off during a goalmouth scramble. The striker then turned provider to release Yates for a glorious fifth and final goal 13 minutes from time.

Crawley's tie with Burnham was postponed because of their opponent's FA Trophy replay and will now take place on January 8.
