I was always led to believe a sage was a wise person. But the Sage of Sussex (The Argus, December 6) has lost the plot.
To suggest the Lib Dems are on the verge of a comeback in Adur (or anywhere else on the South Coast) would be laughable if it wasn't so absurd.
Just six months ago, Paul Elgood led them to an ignominious third place in our area when Labour, the only party to significantly increase its vote, leapfrogged over them.
This trend locally, of course, was confirmed in a Peacehaven by-election last week.
The only need we have of sage at this time of year is to mix it with onions and stuff it in a turkey. Very seasonal.
