Having read Chris Hall's comments (Letters, December 7) regarding modern precision bombing techniques, surely he has picked the wrong Brighton structure.

It would be a crying shame to destroy Embassy Court when Brighton and Hove hospitals are having a terrible time in attracting nurses and workers because of the exorbitant rents, as mentioned in the same day's Voice Of The Argus.

If Brighton and Hove City Council became the owner of Embassy Court, flats could be offered to young nurses and hospital staff at a reasonable rent and thus help hospitals maintain a vital service.

As for destroying anything by bombing, surely the derelict West Pier would be improved by a direct hit.

If the Americans are chosen to do the job, we have to make sure they know Brighton has two piers, only one of which is surplus to requirements.
