Top Of The Pops presenter Jamie Theakston has spent £500,000 on a 16th Century manor near his parents' home in Ditchling.
The Radio 1 star fell in love with the six-bedroom Tudor cottage as a boy and even did a school project on the Grade I listed property's history.
Wings Place is said to have been given by Henry VIII to his fourth wife Anne of Cleves as part of his divorce settlement - but local folklore suggests she never stayed there.
Whether Jamie will break that trend is unknown as he jets around the world filming holiday show You Call The Shots.
Rumours are circulating that his relationship with actress Joely Richardson is back on after a widely-publicised split in August.
And the couple have reportedly been seen heading for Jamie's new timber-framed retreat.
Jamie's father Geoff said: "It's a lovely place but not exactly a cottage.
"When Jamie was at the village school he did a project on it so he was thrilled when he moved in. It has got 500 years of history.
"When he bought it, it was all done out beautifully inside so I don't think he's going to touch it.
"You can never tell what he and Joely are up to. Jamie is off to New York next week to film the Christmas edition of his holiday programme.
"But we are hoping they will come down to Ditchling to spend the Christmas holidays with us."
