East Grinstead picked up four points from their two weekend games in Division Two.
Old rivals Havant were vanquished 4-2 at Saint Hill on Saturday but not after the home side had wobbled when seemingly in total control in the second half.
Andy Medcalf converted a pass from player-coach Ian Pattison to give them the lead before Mike Holland drilled in a corner after 16 minutes. Jamie Pearce finished off a flowing move to score their third from close range, but Grinstead lost their composure after the break.
Havant pulled two goals back and goalkeeper Giles Dakin made several fine saves before Holland settled home nerves with a fourth goal ten minutes from time.
There was controversy in Sunday's 3-3 draw at bottom of the table Bromley with the Kent side planning an appeal because Medcalf scored his second goal when the visitors should have only had nine players on the field. They allege Grinstead did not take a player off when Kevin King was sin-binned while sitting on the bench.
Goals from the hard running Medcalf and Duncan Howarth had twice put Grinstead ahead but the visitors again conceded a goal seconds before the final whistle.
There was more confusion at the end with neither umpire or technical delegate able to tell Pattison how long was left in the match. He said: "I'm afraid a good game was spoiled by some fairly indifferent officiating. The umpires never signalled for one or two minutes to go and we had been told there were over ten left so we kept playing.
"That said we should have been down to nine men for some of the second half and Bromley have lodged an appeal. We would be more than happy to play the match again."
