Two mothers held a night vigil at the spot where their daughters were murdered 15 years ago in a crime that shocked the nation.
The killings, known as the Babes in the Woods murders, were discovered on October 9, 1986.
Last night Susan Fellows and Michelle Hadaway held lanterns at the spot where their daughters' bodies were found.
Karen Hadaway and Nicola Fellows were both nine when their bodies were discovered in Wild Park, Moulsecoomb, Brighton, across the road from the council estate where they lived.
Their bodies were found in woodland next to each other. Both girls had been sexually assaulted.
Last night, the two mothers, who have since moved away from the area, went to the spot were the bodies were found.
They had pictures of the happy girls taken just before they died and an impression of what the two girls would look like now as 24-year-olds, possibly with children of their own.
No one was convicted of the crimes.
Labourer Russell Bishop was charged with the killings but cleared a year later after a high-profile trial.
He is now serving life for the kidnap and attempted murder of a seven-year-old Whitehawk girl.
