Golf equipment valued at up to £10,000 was stolen from an Eastbourne shop early today.
Alarms were triggered at 2.15am when thieves smashed through the door of the pro shop at Willingdon Golf Course, Southdown Road, Eastbourne.
Clothing, clubs and other golfing equipment worth between £7,000 and £10,000 were snatched before David Harrington, who runs the shop, arrived.
Mr Harrington said: "They did a fairly thorough job. I think they would have been familiar with the grounds and would have had a vehicle waiting to take the stuff away."
Anyone with information is asked to call Eastbourne police on 0845 6070 999.
