The Sussex Schools cup competitions kicked off with plenty of goals.

Seaford Head scored 19 goals in two games as they completed a double.

They beat Heathfield 15-2 at under-15s and defeated Littlehampton 4-0 at under-16s.

Longhill (Brighton) and King's Manor (Shoreham) enjoyed victories over schools from outside of Brighton and Hove and its catchment area.

Organiser said Mark Grandsen: "The schools in the Brighton and Hove area seem to be very competitive this season."

Forest (Horsham) edged through 7-6 after extra time against Willingdon at under-16s.

SUSSEX Schools have appointed their county managers for the season. They are Robin Smith (under-19s), Bob White (under-16s), Richard Winton (under-15s) and John Lambert/James Waring (under-14s).

SUSSEX Schools' Association stage their final under-19 trials at Varndean College, Brighton, tomorrow.

ST BEDE'S (Eastbourne) won the A and B events at the St Michaels School Under-13s six-a-side in Otford (Surrey).
