The World's Scariest Police Chases for the PlayStation is a hilariously-sincere showcase of police car chases masquerading

as a public service announcement on the hazards of dangerous driving.

Accompanied by the patronising tones of a real-life county sheriff, the Sky programme is one of those so-bad-it's-good efforts which make for great TV. So it's no surprise that a game has appeared on the scene.

It has kept the overt straightness of the show, culminating in a carnage-ridden smash-up which preaches the virtues of sensible behaviour on the roads.

The aim of the game is to climb into your patrol car and hunt down law breakers and miscreants by whacking the siren on and doing whatever it takes to wipe the scum of the streets. Featuring a host of vehicles, an informative set of training sessions and a cool Starsky-And-Hutch-style two-player mode, this is a wholly enjoyable effort.
