A pupil was suspended from a West Sussex school for carrying a replica gun.
Senior staff at St Philip Howard Roman Catholic High School in Barnham, near Bognor, confiscated the plastic replica, which was capable of firing pellets, and the pupil was excluded for three days.
West Sussex County Council was informed of the incident.
