Sussex has been hit by Goran Fever. Goran Ivanisevic's dramatic Wimbledon triumph has seen the County LTA besieged with phone calls from parents.
They want their children to become involved in tennis after watching his victory.
The Sussex LTA's Nicky Palmer said: "Wimbledon always has an effect but Goran winning has added something extra. He really has caught the imagination. Parents and kids loved what he did and his character. They must have also seen the welcome he received back in Croatia. It was so emotional."
County performance officer Tony Clark agreed.
He said: "The reaction has been fantastic from people in the county. Everyone's gone crazy for lessons. Goran's a bit of an adopted Brit."
Meanwhile, Kimberly Dell, the 20-year-old Paralympian from Eastbourne, decided to decline an invitation to take part in the first wheelchair demonstration during the All England Club Championships. The date clashed with the Dutch Open.
Her father Peter said: "Kimberly was delighted to get the invitation, but playing in the Dutch Open was a higher priority for her.
Clare Wood, the former British No.1 from Lewes, worked in the referee's office at Wimbledon.
