Shout "Dirty Den" at actor Leslie Grantham as he strolls along Brighton seafront and you're likely to be ignored.

It's been more than a decade since he left EastEnders and the joke is wearing thin.

Unfortunately the return of Sharon to Albert Square has stirred-up old memories of Dirty Den and Angie.

But Grantham has no plans to return to the BBC soap and is happy treading the boards at the Theatre Royal in Brighton.

Yesterday he happily signed autographs for fans as he walked through the city.

Grantham is currently starring in the comic farce Theft alongside Roy Hudd and Duty Free star Joanna Van Gyseghem.

Written by Eric Chappell, best known for TV hits such as Rising Damp and Duty Free, the play is a comic farce with a dark twist. The show runs until Saturday and tickets are available from the box office on 01273 328488.
