Pells Pool in Lewes, said to be the country's oldest swimming pool, has reopened for the summer season.
Pells Pool Community Association was formed in 2000 after Lewes Council said it could no longer afford to keep the attraction going.
The Pells site is held in trust on behalf of the people of Lewes by the Town Brooks Charity on land bequeathed in 1603.
The pool will be looked after by the association's pools manager, David Blackwell, helped by volunteers. The council will provide technical support and lifeguards.
Association chairman Conrad Ryle said: "The pool is in good shape after the clean-up following the flood.
"We have had an encouraging report on the state of the structure which suggests there are several years' life in the present tank.
"That takes the pressure off us and gives us time to plan and fund-raise for the future development of the pool."
The pool reopened with a weekend fun day. King Neptune carried out the official opening, along with mayor John Webber.
