Blatchington Mill School want to go one better after becoming national trophy basketball winners.

The Hove School secured the English Individual Schools Association Under-14s B Trophy after defeating North Manchester 84-78 in the second leg at Portslade Community College. It secured an overall aggregate win of 175-162.

Now coach Paul Harley wants to challenge A trophy winners Homerton House from London.

He said: "We just want to see how we get on, just to see how good we are. But it is fantastic to be national trophy winners.

"In my 11 years at the school it is the first time we've managed to win a national title.

"The most satisfying thing about the win is that the side has been mostly developed at the school, only one of the players is from a club.

"We would have won more emphatically, but had one of our top players, John Standing, was injured."

Joe Evans claimed 36 points, Sam Rentz 24 and Tom Smith 17.
