The search for a missing clergyman is continuing in the area around Newhaven port.

Police divers have finished checking the harbour where the Rev Ronald Glazebrook's boat Sulis is moored.

The search is now being extended and trained officers will be checking land around Newhaven Harbour.

A police helicopter will also fly over the area to look for signs of the missing vicar.

Police said this week they accepted Mr Glazebrook was probably the victim of foul play and feared he may have been murdered.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Moore, leading the hunt named Operation Excalibur, said: "We are trying to establish the motive for why anybody would want to harm him."

At a police Press conference yesterday his daughter, Christine, appealed for information about her father's disappearance.

She reported him missing on April 30 after he failed to turn up at for services at Christ Church, St Leonards.
