Many people from Woodingdean travel to Rottingdean - but what has happened to the bus service?

A mother with her young daughter arrived at the bus stop in windy Warren Road, Woodingdean, at 7.35pm on a Friday evening to travel to Rottingdean.

Eventually, the bus arrived at 8.20pm, a wait of 45 minutes on a cold evening. Having reached

Rottingdean late, she was stunned to be informed the last bus from Rottingdean to Woodingdean was at 9.15pm. Previously, the last bus had been at 10pm.

Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company must bring about an improvement in the quality of services to the outlying areas of the city.

This undoubted failing to demonstrate a commitment to these residents will effectively persuade more people to use their cars in this congested city. It is essential when tackling issues of pollution to provide a good quality, sustainable public transport system.
