The daughter of a missing 81-year-old retired vicar who is feared to have been murdered today appealed for help in finding him.

The Rev Ronald Glazebrook's daughter Christine, 45, from Surrey, was at Hastings police station today.

The ex-vicar was last seen walking his dog near his home in Dane Road, St Leonards, on April 27.

Detectives, who arrested and bailed two 17-year-old boys on suspicion of murder are waiting for the results of forensic tests carried out on blood found in the clergyman's Toyota Carina car.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Moore today talked about the progress of the inquiry at a Press conference at Hastings police station.

He said: "In terms of the search itself we have just completed the search of the marina area of Newhaven.

"I am going to consider later today extending the search to the land area surrounding the harbour.

Blood was also found on the clergyman's boat, the Sulis, moored at Newhaven, where divers have been conducting underwater searches.

Det Chief Insp Moore said: "I can confirm the Sulis had been moved in the time since the Rev Glazebrook's disappearance."

The former vicar's daughter, who did not want to be fully identified, today appealed for people to come forward if they know anything about the disappearance.

Sussex Police, who have launched a murder inquiry, said yesterday they now accepted Mr Glazebrook, who still helps out at his local church, could be dead.

Despite extensive inquiries, there has only been one unconfirmed sighting of Mr Glazebrook, who still took services at Christ Church, in London Road, St Leonards, since his disappearance.

He was last seen walking his dog Jonti on April 27.

An incident room has been set up by police in the search for Mr Glazebrook, who started work as a clergyman in London in 1943 and who spent time in Ashford, Southwark and Rochester before retiring and moving to St Leonards.

Although officially retired, he still helped out at Christ Church.

Police are calling for anyone who has seen Mr Glazebrook's car, registration number F381 KNJ, between Hastings and Newhaven in the last week to come forward.
