With parliamentary elections being discussed, the Brighton and Hove Conservative Associations have made a popular decision in selecting their candidates with local connections.
All three are associated with the city, either through birth, educational or residential or business qualifications.
Two have served on both the East Sussex and Brighton and Hove councils and held the office of mayor.
This is good for the city and, if elected, their local expertise will be invaluable.
I cannot recollect a similar situation arising.
