While I am pleased Brighton police have reduced some crime in the area, can we be absolutely clear they have done so on reduced resources, thanks to government cuts, and that violent crime continues to rise.
I also wish to make clear it is not government money (which is too often referred to) but our money.
Taxpayers pay for police officers.
