Ian Mongon was relieved when his jockey's licence came through on Monday just hours before the Lingfield Park meeting at which he rode Lush's Lad to victory.
Trainer Gary Moore's rider said: "We didn't realise the licence had expired the previous week and, although the application went through to Weatherbys on Friday, of course nothing could happen over the weekend.
"Luckily the authorities were most co-operative and faxed my licence approval through to the Clerk of the Scales at midday on Monday."
Ian is currently in third place on the all-weather jockeys' leaderboard with a 16 per cent strike rate and 30 winners.
