I should like to draw the attention of your many readers to the annual reunion of the Steadfast Association to be held on January 20 next year.

The Steadfast Association would probably be better recognised as the Boys Brigade Old Boys (BBOB). This is an annual event and was attended by more than 200 ex-members last year.

We give a very warm welcome to all ex-members of the Boys Brigade who not only served in the Brighton and Hove District Battalion but anywhere in the UK or the world. We have at the moment a thriving association. There is room for plenty more new members and a chance to meet up with old pals you had long forgotten about. It really is something special to meet and talk over old times. Just let us know where you are, come and join us, as the old song goes.

I am a former member of the 12th Brighton Company. We were attached to the Railway Mission at the bottom of Viaduct Road (next to the fire station). The 12th won the Battalion Cup for football in 1937. I remember how proud us lads were when the Mayor of Brighton presented us with our medals in the York Place school hall - to us it was like being at Wembley. Where is the team now?
