A Sussex-based dance music web site already has sales around the world.

Chris Carter and Alex Brind found a shared passion for dance music while studying at Sussex University. They graduated in 1998 and have set up a Brighton-based e-commerce web site, WantedRecords.com.

Chris said: "We had tried to buy music from internet sites and were frustrated by the lack of customer service or shops which had an unnecessary attitude.

"Some sites took our money and didn't deliver the goods, others just took ages to react to orders."

The site, in development since last summer, has already built up a following during its trial period. It has a range of dance music for sale on vinyl and CD as well as a review section and an area promoting new artists.

Alex said: "The demand for vinyl is very geographical because tracks are usually country-specific. People in America and Australia are keen to buy records from the UK to build their collection.

"We have had a lot of requests from overseas and its still early days."

Chris added: "Visitors can submit reviews on what is going on out there at the moment so anyone is welcome to become part of the Wanted team. We have also sponsored a monthly club night at the Pressure Point in Brighton called Sic Dance which starts on Friday."

The company plans to open a shop in Brighton later this year.
