How can Lewes District Council be so mindless?
The community is still trying to recover from the worst flooding in history, with untold consequential damage to our roads and properties.
The commercial substance of our local farming and rural life is currently bleeding to death. Care for the elderly has been abandoned.
Meeching Valley primary school is closed because it appears part of the roof is unsafe.
There is still no bus shelter for the multitude of teenagers accessing Tideway School at the Augustfields stop on the A259.
Yet, in spite of these sad circumstances, it is reported the council has employed consultants to consider having built at Newhaven an art attraction similar to the infamous Angel Of The North.
What planet are these councillors on? It certainly is not planet Earth.
With the prospects of us having to suffer a 10 per cent increase in council tax this year, for goodness' sake, please, please, councillors, get your priorities in place and abandon this gross waste of money and spend it on something of much greater need.
