I was disgusted and annoyed to read housing minister Nick Raynsford complaining about the cost of helping our own homeless people (Argus, March 6).
Councillor Tehmtan Framroze agreed the budget was growing because of this.
The budget is getting bigger not because of our own homeless but the asylum seekers, who are costing us a fortune.
At least 60-70 per cent are not running away from aggression but are here to get a free handout.
Surely we must look after our own people before taking care of every Tom, Dick and Harry who wants something for nothing? Mr Raynsford should think again before stating things like this.
