Why not have a bit of vision? Kill a few birds with one stone and on the Brighton station site construct a multi-use building, as in Holland.
A football pitch in removable box (leave outside to grow, bring inside for matches). Other facilities could include a conference centre, ice rink, indoor athletics and so on.
There would be ideal transport by rail to English cities and major towns as well as Gatwick airport.
A tramway to seafront (join up with an extended Volk's railway). Redevelop the existing seafront site.
Who needs a sea view attending a conference or a concert and who wants to queue in wet and windy weather on a south-facing coastline?
The station site seems to have been a bone of contention for many years along with the ongoing debate over Albion's new stadium. Let's not forget Brighton's past and its leading ways in so many areas.
